I'm getting on well with this guide thing I'm doing, so far I've covered the questions:

"How do I upgrade my graphics drivers?"
"How do I upgrade DirectX?"
and "how do I free up memory/make the game run faster".
and I'm writing "How to move the my documents folder"


I'm busily writing away and was thinking about what to write pages for so.. are there any technical questions you want answered.
By technical I mean where the game stores files (planned), how to get better videos (planned) etc.
I don't mean 'how can I get bella goth' and 'my teddy floats, why?' The first is a game issue and the second is a bug... game issues are in the prima guide and (some) bugs are patched.

So, anything anyone can think of?

I read through all the postings and memories about children and such but I found this odd my Sim was pregnant for 3 days I think and when she gave birth she had triplets. And I read that its not possible. Was my game having a glitch? Also I don't remember reading this maybe soemone can anwser, does the age -off cheat work for toddlers because if it doesn't mine are going to be as dumb as rocks. I now have 2 children and 4 kids that are under toddler age.

EDIT all these kids are girls is there anyway to make the next one a boy if they have a next one?

I haven't seen this posted here yet, but it may help some of you.

If you've recently downloaded houses off the Exchange, you may notice that your expensive dishwasher has been renamed to "Candace", complete with a short biography.

There's a thread on the BBS that explains the problem.

Most importantly, NaelisSim tells us all how to fix it:

To get your expensive dishwasher back to normal - not a single mother named Candace - go into your My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads folder and delete this file: 49ed26a0ac2186d8577c819f15314fcc.package. Then check same path, but your Teleport folder and make sure that file isn't in there (delete if it is). Voila! The dishwasher is no longer alive! Completely safe, I've done it myself. If you download houses, you might want to check those folders after installing to make sure you don't get "her" again.

Edit: I just wanted to add that I, too, found Candace had invaded my game. :P I used the method described above and it worked like a charm.

is there a hack or cheat to make the horrible kids stop their cheering if they get an A+? there is nothing more annoying than that. i always cancel it out, but they still continue doing it.

i was wondering if you can use any expansion packs on the sims 2
like i wanna get "makin' magic", would it work on the sims 2 or is it only for the sims 1?

OK, I downloaded a skin.
I unzipped it into the My Documents->EA Games->Downloads folder

NOW WHAT?

It doesn't show up in the bodyshop
It doesn't show up as a character option.

How do I use this thing?

And why can't NPCs come to my house? I read in the memories that it was a corrupted file, but I really, really don't want to reinstall. Did anyone find a way to fix the problem? I could move them to a new house, but again, I really don't want to. I just want it to be FIXED. Can anyone help me?
