I'm still pretty behind and messing around with OFB and Pets,
I thought I could have my sims live on a community/business lot (dumb dumb dumb)
I figure I should've just started a home business but unfortunately I already built
an organized, pretty ,small, and perfect pet shop/loft combination and don't want to
start over. :(
I read in a way way old entry about just buying a mailbox and trashcan, setting
them up and changing the lot zoning to residential. Unfortunately I can't find
a buyable mailbox at MTS2, trashcan i got. Any suggestions?

changeLotZoning [residential | community | greek | dorm | secretsociety]: changes the zoning type of the lot.
Before rezoning a lot using this cheat, make sure there are no Sims currently living in the lot. To use this cheat, enter the lot that you would like to rezone, and then enter the cheat, choosing one of these zoning options.
it doesnt mention needing a letterbox etc first.... i havent needed to try it, so i dont know.

and the comment by nameless_cricke. Would the game be messed up if their mail couldn't be delivered?
I don't want it to crash or anything...
To change it to residential, moveobjects on, pick up the trashcan and telephone, delete them, place the mailbox and residential trashcan and do the changelotzoning residential in the cheat box. Leave the lot it should be residential. To change something to community, you wouldn't need to do this.
If you try to do it without the mailbox and trashcan, it doesn't work and it stays community. Atleast it did when I was testing all that out. I had built a nifty little community lot that I made for pictures, only to realize that I realy needed it as residential ....I played with that cheat for 30min before looking up how to do it and that I needed the collection.
This is all Pre- BV. I don't know if it's changed since then. I just know that BV broke the collections.

I got my collection at MTS2 but here's a good one that doesn't include a bunch of stuff you don't need. It's under hacks and mods.
